Applying for a CELTA course
All applicants should:
Previous teaching experience is not required, although some applicants do already have EFL teaching experience and wish to consolidate their existing knowledge to gain a recognised qualification.
To apply for Basil Paterson's CELTA course, all you need to do is the following:
Before being accepted, all candidates are interviewed to assess their suitability for the course. These interviews usually take place in groups (or over the phone if you can't make it into the school), and comprise various language awareness tasks, teaching a short lesson, and group feedback. In most cases, the decision to accept or reject a candidate is made immediately.
The standard fee for CELTA courses in 2010 is £995 (excluding £100 Cambridge assessment fee). If required, Basil Paterson College can also arrange accommodation for the duration of your 4-week stay. See our Accommodation section for more details.
