Applying for a CELTA course
All applicants should:
Previous teaching experience is not required, although some applicants do already have EFL teaching experience and wish to consolidate their existing knowledge to gain a recognised qualification.
Please Note: The recommended candidate language level for non-native speakers is C2 (Cambridge Proficiency) or high C1 (Cambridge Advanced) - Grade A or B on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
To apply for Basil Paterson's CELTA course, all you need to do is the following:
Before being accepted, all candidates are interviewed to assess their suitability for the course. These interviews usually take place in groups (or over the phone if you can't make it into the school), and comprise various language awareness tasks, teaching a short lesson, and group feedback. In most cases, the decision to accept or reject a candidate is made immediately. Once accepted, please pay the course fees by cheque (made payable to Basil Paterson College), credit card, or in person at the College reception.
The fee for CELTA courses in 2012 is £1200 (includes Cambridge assessment fee).
